Approx. 120 tons of sand per kilometer are required to lay line using conventional laying methods.
A truck has a loading capacity of approx. 15 tons.
At the same time, at least the same mass of earth would have to be transported away (displacement).
This corresponds to a shipload of transport goods that have to be transported to the construction site (and all the way back).
The geotextile material used by Cable Potect, on the other hand, fits into a single transporter load with a single journey.
Quarries and landfills are relieved. Less fuel consumption and therefore less CO2 pollution. Laying directly using a laying plow, to save the entire disposal.
My name is Theo Saathoff. For more than 40 years I have been active in cable and wire construction with innovative laying techniques and have developed a wealth of experience in my international projects. Cable protection in wind farms, as well as in difficult to access terrain, is and will remain a major issue that brings with it some challenges.
